There are many places children go. We dream of creating a place where children and families truly belong. At Third Bend Studio, we believe children deserve a third space, a place beyond home and school where they can gather, create, explore, rest, wonder, and grow together.
We believe children are capable, creative, thoughtful, and full of ideas worth taking seriously. Rather than rushing children toward predetermined outcomes, we want to create an environment where curiosity leads the way, and play becomes the means by which children research the world.
Imagine shelves filled with open-ended art materials waiting to become inventions, loose parts ready to become cities or spaceships, musical instruments that spark collaboration, dramatic play materials that inspire storytelling, books that invite children to ask new questions, and outdoor spaces that encourage exploration, movement, and wonder. These are not simply supplies. They are invitations. Invitations to imagine, experiment, solve problems, build relationships, revisit ideas, and discover something new.
Every donated material and every dollar given expand what is possible for the children and families who will walk through our doors. Your support helps us enrich our classrooms with thoughtful materials, strengthen our outdoor learning environments, expand opportunities for creative exploration, and continue building a studio that reflects the curiosity, joy, and capability of the children who will learn here.

How are donations used?
It feels like a dream. From the very beginning, this has felt like something our entire community has wrapped their arms around. To everyone who donated materials—whether it was a single pack of paper or a car full of supplies—thank you. Families cleaned out playrooms, picked items from our wish list, and passed along things that will become part of so many childhood memories. Because of you, our shelves are overflowing with art materials, we have more paper than we know what to do with, a beautiful wooden rocking stair boat, a LEGO table, a play tent, yard toys, rugs, and countless toys that are already so deeply loved. Thank you to every person who joined our pickup parade and helped these treasures find their way to us. To everyone who gave your time, talent, and hard work—thank you. You hauled furniture, helped us move in, prepped materials, hung shelves, anchored furniture to the walls, shared your expertise, and even gifted us an entire toolkit for the center. A huge thank you to Megan, who truly stepped in as our incredible handyman, and Cassie for helping prepare so many materials, Ashlynn for keeping us fueled with the best snickerdoodles during open house, and to Chanel for creating so much of our merch and spending countless days helping us through our whirlwind setup. To everyone who contributed to our GoFundMe—you helped make some of our biggest dreams possible. Because of your generosity, we were able to complete our children’s bathroom plumbing, install a more accessible sink, add a service sink, purchase our sign, build our fencing, bring another sensory table into the studio, and add security improvements that help keep children safe. Your generosity has blown us away. We are so humbled and grateful. Huge shout out to Denton’s Nature's Plate for supplying our whole prep kitchen, and Josh and Caitlin for supporting huge additions and Matt and Chelsea for adding three sinks to our space both in material and labor.
